Royal History

Royal Health Group founder James Mamary, Sr. had already dedicated 25 years to the health care industry when he decided to start his own company in 1997 with the purchase of the stately Royal Megansett nursing home on Cape Cod. His goal was to develop facilities that exuded a home-like warmth:  personal, comfortable, clean and beautiful. Many of the Royal Health Group’s facilities are, in fact, former homes. But most important was his commitment to unparalleled care and service that continues to be the calling card of each Royal nursing center.

In 2012, the Royal Health Group proudly serves three regions south of Boston. Four homes are situated on Cape Cod: Royal Megansett Nursing & Retirement Home in North Falmouth, Royal Falmouth Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Royal Cape Cod Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Bourne, and a beautiful assisted living community in Harwich, the Royal at Harwich Village. On the South Coast: Royal Fairhaven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and Royal Taber Street Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in New Bedford. In suburban Boston is the newest addition to the Royal family, Royal Braintree Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. All of our facilities specialize in short term rehab in addition to long term, respite and hospice care, and four of our centers offer the highly regarded Royal Innovation: Alzheimer’s Care program. We  have the full resources and expertise of the Joslin Diabetes Center at our disposal in our Braintree and New Bedford centers with their Diabetes Specialty Services program. See “Specialty Services” on our home page to learn about these, and other innovative Royal initiatives for the clinical and personal well-being of our residents.

The “Royal Standard of Excellence” is more than just a clever phrase; it describes the quality of care we aspire to deliver every day, in each and every facility of the Royal Health Group.
