James Mamary Sr. – Founder and President

Growing up in New Jersey, Jim Mamary had an incredibly close relationship with his grandparents, one that focused his career on providing the highest level of care and respect for the senior community and ultimately led him to found Royal Health Group. Jim earned a degree in public administration at Rutgers and started his career as a hospital manager in Providence while attending the University of Rhode Island School of Business.  Jim’s first experience working as a nursing home Administrator was at Greenwood House in Rhode Island in 1977. At Greenwood his seasoned Director of Nursing did two important things – she taught him how to run a facility from a nurse’s point of view and she introduced him to her daughter Marycatherine who would later become his wife. Over the next 20 years Jim worked in and consulted for over 250 nursing homes which uniquely positioned him to see an opportunity: build a company that combines the best practices of a national, large-scale business with the personalized care and commitment to employees found in a family business. With this vision, Jim purchased his first facility in 1997, Royal Megansett in North Falmouth Massachusetts. Since then Jim and his sons, have built Royal Health Group into one of the highest regarded senior healthcare groups in the area. With 12 facilities in operation and more on the horizon, Jim’s vision thrives because of his commitment the pillars upon which he built the company: stay current with national learnings, maintain the highest ethical standards, invest in your staff, invest in your buildings and always treat the resident and their family as if they were your own.  

James Mamary Jr. – Executive Vice President

James grew up in the hallways of the long-term care facilities managed by his father Jim.  Destined for a career in leadership and operational oversight, one of his earliest memories is chasing pedestrians off the freshly planted grass at a Flatley home that his dad was managing when he was 5 years old.  James was 16 when Jim purchased Royal Megansett, the first facility in what would become a growing family of innovative healthcare facilities owned and operated by Royal Health Group.  James learned the business through hands-on experience in all aspects of the work; washing dishes in the kitchens, cutting grass and shoveling snow and driving the bus for offsite trips. A graduate of Babson undergrad and graduate school, James earned his MBA from the Olin School of Management and is a Massachusetts Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.  He’s worked as the administrator of Royal Taber Street and Megansett and also led business development for the acquisition of Royal Fairhaven, Braintree, Norwell. Now as Executive Vice President, James’ time is focused on strategic expansion of the business to position Royal Health Group as a leader in post-acute care in Massachusetts and Rhode Island while creating a first-in-class culture where people enjoy coming to work every day. James starts and ends his day pursuing another passion – farming.  He, his wife Melissa and their kids Jimmy and Gemma raise pigs, goats and chickens and James can often be found in his signature cowboy boots riding his tractor and collecting eggs from the chicken coop.    

Jonathan Mamary – Vice President, General Counsel

Jonathan also grew up in the hallways of the long-term care facilities managed by his father Jim.  While you may remember him for convincing his brothers to drop water balloons from the Megansett roof on to the parking lot below, he also learned the value and importance of hard work and commitment – even when it meant leaving his own 16th birthday party early to work his shift in the Megansett kitchen. A graduate of UMASS Amherst and Syracuse University College of Law, Jonathan spends his days working on new facility acquisitions, developing risk management strategies, and negotiating contracts for the company. Jonathan spends most of his free time with his wife Robin, their young daughter Nadia and their Spanish Water Dog Manny (whose portrait is prominently displayed on his office wall).  Much like his work at Royal, he’s known to take things apart – like laptops and home appliances—and rebuild them to make the bigger and better. However, the jury is out on his recent lawn mower rebuild – while initially it worked better it also nearly set his neighborhood on fire. So here at Royal we ask him to stick with building policies and infrastructure that will help Royal thrive as one of the most innovative post-acute care facilities in the New England.

Josh Mamary – Director of Business Systems

Josh started his career in long-term care in the Megansett maintenance department at the age of 12. He spent his afternoons weeding gardens, mowing lawns and helping out in the kitchens.  In addition to the strong work ethic instilled in him by his parents, Josh also learned the importance of giving back to his community, volunteering in food pantries and Head Start programs. This commitment is something he still makes a priority today, serving as a Big Brother for Big Brother of Massachusetts Bay. After working as an Administrator in Training at Megansett and Braintree, Josh spent two years working with Dell/EMC in Texas.  He returned to Royal in 2015 to spearhead key infrastructure and analytics improvements required to support Royal’s expansion across Massachusetts and into Rhode Island. A huge music fan and lover of being outdoors, Josh spends his down-time in the mountains or at the beach, and is a die-hard fan of the Connecticut Huskies. He loves to travel, ski and spend time with his Little Brother helping him with his homework and playing basketball.  

Robyn Sloniecki – Vice President of Operations

RNBSN, CCM, LNHA, MBA Robyn has over 26 years of experience in healthcare. She began her career with the intention of following in her mother’s footsteps and becoming a nurse, a goal she achieved, progressing from a Certified Nursing Assistant all the way up to a Director of Nursing. While working as a nurse in a long-term care facility, Robyn was inspired to advance her career into the world of Healthcare Administration after having to place her own grandmother in a nursing home and personally experiencing the emotional turmoil families face when having to make these challenging decisions. Robyn earned her MBA in Healthcare Administration and joined the Royal Health Group family in 2001 as an Administrator in Training before working as Executive Director in our Royal Taber and Royal Harwich facilities.  In 2008 she became Director of Operations and assumed regional oversight of all of our facilities. Today as Vice President of Operations, Robyn serves as our Corporate Compliance Officer and works closely with Executive Directors and the Regional Leadership Team to ensure we provide quality care in a home-like environment, display fiscal responsibility across all segments of our business, and foster a positive, respectful environment for our staff.

Pat Avila – Vice President of Clinical Operations

RN, CDONA Pat Avila has over 40 years of experience in healthcare.  For as long as she can remember she wanted to be a nurse and started taking care of people at a very young age.  While attending high school she worked as both a dietary aide and a C.N.A and then went on to earn her LPN, RN and BA in Healthcare Administration. Pat’s a certified Director of Nursing in Long-Term care and has been a member of NADONA since its inception.  With a background in both acute and long-term care, Pat believes that advocating for our elderly and ensuring that they have the best quality of life is one of the most important things she can do. She joined the Royal Health Group team in 2013 after watching Jim Mamary build a company built on the values that were important to her – to treat residents and their families like her own – with respect, dignity and love.In her role, Pat oversees the clinical operations of our facilities to ensure the highest quality and the integrity of our services and operations. Pat has 2 children who both grew up running around nursing homes and who now also have a passion to ensure our elders are treated with respect and dignity. She loves photography and knitting and is happiest at home in Falmouth surrounded by her kids, grand-kids, partner and their many, many dogs.

Tiffany Jadotte – Director of Human Resources

MBA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, Ed.D (in progress) Tiffany joined Royal Health Group in 2012 to establish an internal, regional Human Resources Department to serve all of our facilities. Having worked for many years in Advertising and Energy, Tiffany was drawn to the healthcare industry because of it’s primary focus to serve people, not the bottom line.  Prior to joining Royal Health Group, Tiffany worked in the VA Boston Healthcare system and at Steward Healthcare-Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was drawn to Royal because of the pervasive commitment to the personal care and attention given to its patients and employees. In her role Tiffany plans, directs and manages all human resources initiatives, such as employee and labor relations, benefits administration, recruitment, and training. Tiffany is a former competitive athlete and current avid Boston Sport’s fan. She is slightly obsessed with watching cooking shows when not studying for her Ed.D or spending time with her husband and daughter.

Caitlin McGillicuddy – Director of Internal Communications

Caitlin joined Royal Health Group in 2016 to lead communication and engagement initiatives with employees and stakeholders across all of our facilities. Having worked in the non-profit sector for over 15 years, Caitlin has committed her career to working with organizations who are in the business of helping people – which ultimately led her to Royal Health Group.  Caitlin started her career in patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute before jumping into the world of fundraising and communications at the Jimmy Fund. Caitlin has spent the last 10 years working in youth development, leading multi-million-dollar communication and fundraising strategies while defining and building organizational cultures that empower employees AND positively impact the bottom line.  In her role, Caitlin develops and implements all internal communications plans, regional employee engagement and recognition programs and acquisition communication strategies. Caitlin is a former professional singer, current fiction writer and founding member of the l’Atelier Writers Retreat in Villeferry France. In her free-time she likes to cook with her husband and daughters while singing the Frozen soundtrack on repeat – under duress.
