“Walk, Rock & Roll” at The Royal Benefits Hospice Program

September, 2011 - Royal Fairhaven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center teamed up with Community Nurse & Hospice Care of Fairhaven once again this year for the second annual “Walk, Rock & Roll at The Royal” on Saturday, September 10th at Royal Fairhaven.

It was a beautiful day for the three-mile walk, which started and ended at Royal Fairhaven and weaved through Poverty Point three times, steering the walkers to historic sites along the way. Back at the Royal, our walkers gathered to enjoy a live remote by FUN 107-FM, music, food and activities.

Community Nurse & Hospice Care raised $9,500 for their hospice mission. Royal Fairhaven is pleased to have participated again this year in support of an important program for the Fairhaven community.

Community Nurse & Hospice Care is dependent upon donations and fundraisers to support their hospice program. As you may imagine, terminal illness is challenging to both patients and their families. The agency is committed to not only providing medical care, comfort and dignity to hospice patients, but also to offsetting the financial burden that families may endure after health insurance reimbursements are exhausted.
