Royal Health Group CEO Jim Mamary a Candidate for "Man of the Year"
March 17, 2011
As you read this, almost a million Americans are battling leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma. Leukemia still causes more deaths among children than any other cancer. The Royal Health Group has supported many worthy causes over the years, and Royal's owner and CEO Jim Mamary is joining in the fight against these terrible diseases by agreeing to become a candidate for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Man of the Year” campaign, which raises critically needed funds for blood cancer research, education and patient services.
"I'm delighted to accept the nomination as a candidate," said Mamary. "This is the kind of contest where everybody wins, and the biggest winners of all are the people who are helped every day by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society."
A ten-week, spirited competition is now underway to see which candidate can raise the most funds. A similar competition will determine the "Woman of the Year" for LLS chapters all over the country.
You can support Jim Mamary's “candidacy” by making a donation through the campaign web site (www.mwoy.org/ma). Simply click on “Donate” in the upper right hand corner of the home page, or scroll down to Jim's name and follow the prompts from there. Keep in mind that dozens of companies match employee donations – your company may be one of them!
This is the 20th year of the “Man and Woman of the Year” contest, which has raised an amazing 52 million dollars nationally. The life-saving work of LLS (www.lls.org) is only possible through the generous support of individuals and businesses. Your support would be greatly appreciated!
