Our History
The view from Royal Cape Cod looking out over Buttermilk Bay
Royal Health Group founder Jim Mamary had already dedicated 25 years to the health care industry when he decided to start his own company in 1997. His goal was to develop facilities that exuded a home-like warmth - personal, comfortable, clean and beautiful. Many of the Royal Health Group’s facilities were, in fact, former homes. But most important was his commitment to unparalleled care and service that continues to be the calling card of each RHG nursing center.
In 2011, the Royal Health Group proudly boasts of six family-owned and operated skilled nursing centers, and a beautiful assisted living community in Harwich, the Royal at Harwich Village. Three homes are situated on Cape Cod: Royal Falmouth Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Royal Megansett Nursing & Retirement Home in North Falmouth, and Royal Cape Cod Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Buzzards Bay. Two facilities are located on the South Coast: Royal Fairhaven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, and Royal Taber Street Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in New Bedford. Closest to Boston is the newest addition to the RHG family, Royal Braintree Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. All our facilities offer short term rehab in addition to long term care, and four of our centers offer the highly regarded “Royal Innovation: Alzheimer’s Care” program.
"Our staff determines the overall quality of care that is given in each facility,” says Jim Mamary. “If you value your employees, listen to their concerns and ideas and show them your appreciation and support, you will foster a wonderful work environment that enables us to retain the most talented professionals, while attracting new employees of the highest caliber. If we can hire the best, we can ensure that our residents are receiving the best care."
The “Royal Standard of Excellence” is more than just a clever phrase; they are words to live by in each and every facility of the Royal Health Group.
